Manipulation in Reality: (By Alberto Bonizzato – Behavioral Coach)
Deconstructing the Conspiracy Myth, the Subcortical Educational Shortcut, and Decision-Making Hacking via Emotional Noise Induction
Within the macro-social collective imagination, as well as across the vast majority of traditional psychological taxonomy, manipulation is categorized as an exclusively negative behavioral phenomenon, ethically polarized as "wrong" or perverse. This moral parameterization systematically evokes conspiratorial scenarios, shadowy plots, and Machiavellian architectures; the individual who perceives themselves as the target of this dynamic experiences an immediate spike in fear arousal, registering themselves as a helpless victim stripped of vector defenses. The Perspective of Observation of Mind Mechanics (POMM) operates a complete reset of this distorting lens: in the reality of phenomenal facts, manipulation is an ordinary communicative strategy, a standardized protocol for environmental and energetic management deployed by entirely normal organisms. Within the fabric of daily relationships, manipulation articulates itself through normative grids, affective transactions, and micro-behaviors so deeply integrated that they are encoded as customary, or even as expressions of a bond. The scientific notations reported in this chapter strictly exclude any value judgment or ethical condemnation: the objective is to map the kinetic reality of these flows and the structurally neutral instrumentality of their effect on the interlocutor.

1. The Mechanical Definition: The Chasm Between Sign and Intention From a biomechanical standpoint, manipulation configures itself as a programmed disjunction between the verbal-explicit channel and the meta-communicative-implicit channel. The dynamic activates according to a precise kinematic sequence: 1. Verbal Abstention: On the plane of conscious communication and rational logic, the subject abstains from formulating a direct request or making their expectations explicit. There is no overt command that can be intercepted and critically vetted by the interlocutor's neocortex. 2. Analog Saturation: Simultaneously, the non-verbal stream (proxemics, micro-mimicry, alterations in vocal tone, respiration) emits a high-intensity emotional signal designed to hit the target's limbic system directly. The interlocutor finds themselves hit by an onslaught of arousal (apprehension, urgency, threat of losing approval) while their cognitive layer is deprived of any textual data to refute. Manipulation resides entirely within this subterranean flow of projective intentions; for this reason, it is in most cases a spontaneous, automatic, and entirely unconscious process on the part of the one executing it. It is the mechanical response of a system attempting to extract environmental feedback while bypassing the friction of open negotiation. 2. Parental Manipulation: The Limbic Educational Shortcut This represents the primary matrix—the biologically densest and most socially normed form of manipulation. The parent finds themselves charged with a computationally immense task: formatting the offspring's behavior according to standards of communal adequacy (regulating oral hygiene, scholastic stasis, containing vocal emissions). Explaining the pragmatic and causal efficacy of these rules to a pre-operatory apparatus (a child between 2 and 6 years old) requires an expenditure of metabolic energy and a communicative competence that the average adult either lacks or has exhausted. The parental system thus implements subliminal communicative flows, utilizing the coercive weight of the "unsaid." ・ The Passive-Aggressiveness of Silence (The Limbic Chill): In the event of the child's non-compliance with the rule, the parent does not yell or argue; they execute a strategic withdrawal of their own emotional presence, entrenching themselves in a punitive silence. The child, whose nervous system detects the absolute threat of abandonment, experiences a spike in fear arousal that instantaneously resets the rebellion. Compliance with the rule occurs not through understanding the utility of the gesture, but as a conditioned reflex to terminate the adult's limbic chill. ・ The Affective Blackmail of Disappointment (The Transfer of the Load): Through horizontal verbalization such as "If you do this, you make me sad", the parent performs an anti-economic operation: they offload the homeostasis of their own emotional equilibrium onto the shoulders of the infant. The child does not map action X as inefficient for their own development; they introject the rule that their very existence is the direct cause of the caregiving figure's happiness or pain. Case Analysis: The Mother's Logistical Martyrdom Consider the behavior of a mother who, facing the disorder of her son's bedroom, emits no imperative command ("tidy up your room"), but begins cleaning the space while emitting deep sighs and assuming a skeletal posture rigidly somaticized as a sacrificial martyr. On the verbal plane, there is no request; on the meta-communicative plane, the mother is projecting a grid wherein the son is positioned in the role of the selfish "executioner." To deactivate the intolerable induced guilt, the boy is forced to intervene, restoring the bond and falling into the trap of the extorted feedback. 3. Relational Manipulation Among Adults: The Market of Emotions In the intersubjective theater of adults, the manipulative protocol refines itself, camouflaging behind cultural, sentimental, and couple stereotypes. Within this sector fall all victimistic, seductive, or hyper-performative postures aimed at capturing the Locus of Control of the other.

The common denominator—the neurochemical hardware of these tactics—is Guilt (Il Senso di Colpa). The manipulator, guided by their own Emotional Model rooted in competitiveness and seductiveness, detects that guilt constitutes the shortest and most efficient cybernetic leash applicable to the interlocutor: a micro-tension in meta-communication is sufficient to force the other to retreat within the manipulator's projective boundaries, sacrificing their own proactivity. 4. The Negatory Structure: The Hacking and Cancellation of Volition Manipulation is classified within the POMM as a negatory structure because, in purely technical terms, it operates a literal overriding of the volition of the organism undergoing it. When an actor manipulates the partner by exploiting the attractive force of feelings (the code of love, pity, or the fear of transgenerational disappointment), the target's capacity for deliberate choice is neutralized. The terminal action is not completed by virtue of a proactive target or a real need of the Self, but solely for the cessation of the induced emotional noise: the noise generated by the manipulator becomes biologically unendurable for the system, which gives in simply to restore homeostatic quiet. This determines two mechanical events: ・ The Invasion of the Field (Decision Hacking): The manipulator inserts themselves into the decision-making command string of the other and alters their parameters of convenience, completely overwriting the partner's ERG (Guided Real Experience). ・ The Cancellation of the Other as an Autonomous Subject: Within the manipulator's projective map, the interlocutor loses the status of an autonomous individual endowed with purposes and physical boundaries; they are downgraded to a mere logistical tool, a piece on their own psychological chessboard that must move in obedience to the necessities of the original Model. Case Analysis: The Couple's Strategic Illness Observe a couple dynamic in which Partner A expresses a proactive desire to evacuate the domestic space for socialization with their peer group. Partner B does not state an explicit denial ("I don't want you to go out"), but instantaneously initiates the staging of a sudden somatic illness (migraine, asthenia, a drop in blood pressure), enunciated with a faint, weak thread of voice. Partner A is immediately hooked by anticipatory guilt. If they choose to stay home, the action is determined not by a clean affective drive, but by the fact that their original volition has been entirely denied and castrated by the projection of threat and suffering discharged by the partner. Conclusion: Deactivating the Projective Gear Unmasking manipulation as a banal, daily device for arousal regulation strips it of any destructive or paranoid charge. It is not a matter of formulating a moral condemnation against the parent exhausted by environmental variables or the partner locked in a seductive-defensive asset, but of mapping with surgical precision the exact point where communication ceases to be a bridge for tuning and transforms into a restrictive trap. The structural objective of the POMM is to ferry these dynamisms from the non-cognitive and implicit area into the light of factual and pheno-material evidence. The exact millisecond the organism learns to visualize the "projective wire" pulling its somatic movements, coatta reactivity drops to zero. It finally becomes possible to choose to stop moving on command, reclaiming the sovereignty of one's own decision-making volition and leaving the manipulator with the exclusive burden of managing their own internal equilibrium.
