Within classical psychological literature, the concept of the Self has frequently assumed metaphysical or identity-focused nuances: ranging from the psychoanalytic "synthetic function of the Ego" to Jungian analytical psychology's "Self as the center of the total personality," up to phenomenological theories that observe it as the ultimate core of subjective awareness. The POMM framework operates a fundamental methodological shift: the Self is not an entity endowed with discernment, volition, or independent consciousness, but is strictly redefined as a vast domain of stratified memory.

It functions exclusively as a logistic warehouse for lived experiences, reality encoding systems, and behavioral tracks. From this perspective, the Self is stripped of its spiritual or identity aura to reveal its true nature as an a-critical, bio-mechanical archive, entirely devoid of an autonomous critical filter.

The transition from a single, isolated experience to a permanent track of identity is executed via a process of data compression known as Simbolizzazione (Symbolization). Within traditional psychology, the "symbol" is frequently treated as an image or archetype pregnant with deep cultural or mystical meanings. Within the POMM architecture, the mnemonic symbol is a compressed functional proxy.

When a specific sequence of experiences repeats with statistical coherence, the Self stands down the registration of every local micro-detail and compresses the entire behavioral schema into an automation. Only through the systematic consolidation of experiences via ERG (Guided Real Experiences) and the subsequent resetting of Ego activation to zero can the Self fulfill its ultimate biological function: to allow for a fluid, silent environmental adaptation, where human action is no longer the tragic output of an internal emotional conflict, but the clean execution of a perfectly integrated mechanics.
