Competitive Moralism as a Clinical Practice in Psychotherapy

The Extraction of Moral Syntaxes for Biomechanical Faults and the Illusion of the Confessional Dialogue

Within the traditional clinical and therapeutic setting, the investigator witnesses one of the most pervasive and invisible short-circuits of mental mechanics: the operational deployment of Competitive Moralism. This structural dynamic activates the exact millisecond the two actors involved in the transaction—the therapist and the patient—converge in the anti-economic attempt to trace moral definitions and ethical labels for bottlenecks that are fundamentally non-moral, being instead purely biomechanical anomalies, un-processed experiential lacunae, or homeostatic stasis of the Limbic System.

The structured axioms of the POMM framework allow us to decrypt this phenomenon not as an authentic process of functional recovery, but as a highly refined cognitive manipulation and counter-manipulation device—the historical and operational roots of which do not belong to psychological science, but to the dogmatic universe of confessional religion.

1. The Kinematics of the Logical Shift: Guided and Instrumental Moralism

Competitive moralism can be isolated and executed in an active, conscious modality by an operator who masterfully commands its kinematic vectors. When the guidance of this strategy is strictly instrumental, the intellectual warfare between two subjects disputing a targeted content can yield highly sophisticated feedback—the systemic outputs of which, however, remain tightly locked within the boundaries of the abstract, cognitive neocortex.

This "positive guided moralism" coordinates itself through a precise decision-making hacking sequence:

・ Injection of the Competitive Stimulus: The operator hooks the subject’s internal arousal, challenging their cognitive radar to pierce and comprehend the expressed meanings through an intellectual duel.

Unlike vittimistico moralism, within this specific relational asset, the subject's vehicle is never driven toward a threat-encoding of its own identity. Although the patient is subjected to a constant, subliminal moral judgment (of which they remain almost entirely oblivious), the intrinsic consistency of the evaluative data prevents their subcortical hardware from registering as a "victim." This effectively blocks the subsequent reactive conversion into an "executioner."

The individual extracts a potent cerebral satisfaction from the transaction, triggering the distinct illusion of having captured new evolutionary horizons of reality.

2. The Architectural Constraint: The Negatory Vector of Judgment

Despite the superficial functionality of this process, the a-moral analysis of the POMM framework highlights the insurmountable hardware limitation of this practice. Competitive moralism remains, by its very geometric constitution, a negatory structure.

The judging operator (the therapist) exerts an effective moral power over the other’s system—an authoritative control that perfectly replicates the coercive scaffolding of the primary Superego.

Consequently, this technique is structurally castrated from generating within the subject a configuration of self as an able, sovereign, and autonomous organism. The individual does not learn to execute physical operations in the pheno-material world through the Agito Nudo (The Naked Action); instead, they remain anchored to the abstract validation of the expert, merely copy-pasting an emotional dependency with an intellectual dependency.

3. The Confessional Legacy: Centuries of Pastoral Engineering

This highly specialized interpersonal control software is by no means an original discovery or an exclusive property of modern psychological disciplines. Clinical psychology has merely inherited and secularized a behavioral infrastructure engineered with total transgenerational success within the domain of religious institutions.

Clerics, priests, and friars have deployed this identical structure for centuries to govern collective subcortical arousal and capture the Locus of Control of the flock. Through the programmed administration of the competitive stimulus (the salvation of the soul, the triumph over sin, the head-on confrontation with the dogma) and the execution of implicit moral power, pastoral engineering has demonstrated for generations how to maintain human vehicles in a state of perennial homeostatic submission—shrewdly mistaking the brief cerebral relief extracted from confessional absolution for an authentic evolution of the real identity.
